Este cenário foi divulgado a primeira vez cerca de 11 anos atrás.
Em um mundo onde o romhacking ainda era novidade, Resident Evil tinha recém ganhado seu 5º título numerado e os fãs ainda tinham um certo respeito entre uns e outros, o CT-STARS divulgava seu mais recente - e audacioso - projeto. Resident Evil: Rebecca's Escape tinha como pano de fundo a história original de Resident Evil 3, vista pelo ângulo de Rebecca Chambers, a recruta até então desaparecida da série. Muitos, inclusive, a davam como morta nos incidentes de Julho de 1998, na mansão Spencer. Este Flag que vos fala sempre defendeu a sobrevivência dela, em teoria baseada em um file de Resident Evil 2, onde é falado que os sobreviventes dos eventos eram Redfield, Valentine, Burton, Chambers e Vickers.
Ora, se Rebecca sobreviveu ao incidente da mansão, onde ela estava quando Jill Valentine saiu da cidade em Resident Evil 3? Sabemos que Chris estava na Europa. Claire e Leon tinham acabado de sair, um dia antes. Barry estava igualmente fora [spoiler: tendo voltado para salvar Jill]. Brad morre na frente de Jill, pelo Nemesis [esqueçamos o remake/reimaginação]. E Rebecca foi, simplesmente, esquecida.
Baseados nisso tudo, resolvemos tentar imaginar o que teria acontecido com ela, criando uma história fictícia - porém - sem inconsistências com o canon da série.
A história-base sempre existiu. O roteiro não.
Como esta parte não evoluía, acabei decidindo por mexer em alguns cenários e na própria personagem. Rebecca, então, apareceu neste terraço do RPD. É um cenário montado a partir de fragmentos do RPD, utilizando o céu de Raccoon City em Resident Evil 3.
Apesar de já terem se passado 11 anos, lembro nitidamente das reações dos fãs, extremamente positivas. Afinal, ninguém - ou quase ninguém - tinha feito um cenário novo até então. E com estas características, ainda não existia. É claro que algumas pessoas preferiram focar na personagem e na forma básica dela. Isso não incomodou muito, na verdade. Os retornos positivos eram tão animadores que as negatividades passaram quase que despercebidas.
Depois disso a coisa evoluiu rápido. Tivemos a entrada do Arcano e depois do Jusé no design de cenários, além da Nath nas Concept-Arts, o que levou o jogo a outro nível visual.
E aí a coisa realmente explodiu [figurativa e literalmente].
